Robin Carhart-Harris, Ph.D.: Meditation, Psychedelics and Ego

Robin Carhart-Harris got his master’s degree in psychoanalysis in 2005, but was unsatisfied with the often-unreliable use of dreams and free association to tap into the subconscious. Inspired by psychiatrist Stanislav Grof’s extensive and successful work to access the subconscious of his patients using LSD, Robin set about getting a Ph.D. in neuroscience. He then accomplished the nearly impossible task of starting the first scientific research into psychedelics in the UK in over three decades.

This video clip, touching on brain networks, meditation, psychedelics and ego, is just a short introduction to Robin and his amazing work that helps to create more understanding about consciousness and mental health. We will be posting much more on Robin’s work in the weeks ahead.
